Udupi, Dec 22: DC Priyanka Mary Francis has said that a kite festival and various cultural programmes will be held at Malpe beach on December 31.
She was speaking in a meeting held in Rajathadri deputy commissioner’s office on Saturday December 22 to prepare for the kite festival.
“Nearly 40 people will fly attractive kites from 10 am till 6 pm in the festival held by Malpe beach development committee followed by flying of LED balloons from 6 pm to 8 pm. A seminar for enthusiasts to prepare kites will also be held. Several cultural programmes consisting of local folk dances and bands will be held. Attractive fireworks will be held at 12 pm,” she said.
The DC has formed a committee of officers to make the festival a success. Corporation commissioner Anand Kallolikar, Malpe beach development committee’s Sudesh Shetty and several department officials were present.
