Bengaluru: Farmers asked to submit records to bank for loan waiver

Bengaluru, Dec 23: Farmers who have borrowed loans from commercial banks need to submit necessary documents to the respective banks before January 10 to avail benefit of loan waiver.

Deputy Commissioner of Bengaluru Urban district B M Vijayashanker said that the registration process for loans borrowed from April 1, 2009 till December 31, 2017 is in progress.

Farmers who have borrowed loans should submit copies of Aadhaar card and ration card obtained before July 5 this year with self declaration, survey number of the agricultural land to the banks during working hours. There is no need of submitting copy of Pahani document.

Up to a maximum of 40 farmers’ details can be registered per day in a bank branch. The farmers, who arrive late, will be issued tokens, serial number and date.

Only farmers who have borrowed loan for farming are eligible. A maximum of Rs two lacs per family including dependent children can be waived.

Those who are employed in government offices or those who receive pension exceeding Rs 15,000 having retired from government service are not eligible. Former defense personnel can also avail the benefit. For more details contact Tel No: 080-2221 or 1106.

    Not sure.. whether this will go well with bhakt's & crony capitalists... who looted PSU bank's money in consortium...???? with the blessings of present union government...!!! who conveniently pass the blame on to previous UPA Govt..., to hide their sin....!!!!
