Bantwal, Dec 23: Historically famous Veera-Vikrama Jodukare Bayalu Kambala, organized by Hokkadigoli Mahishamardinin Kambala committee of the taluk, was inaugurated on Saturday, December 22.

Inaugurating the event and giving his good wishes, Asranna Krishna Prasad Acharya of Shree Kshetra Poonja, said, "May this Kambala, which is the devotion of the agriculturists be held without any hassles. This Kambala has religious connection to the temple,"

Speaking on the occasion, Rajiv Shetty Yedthur, who was the chief guest of the event, said, "Certain reforms have been made in Kambala event because of the amendment to the law. The organizers of the Kambala and the owners of the buffaloes taking part in the event have to abide by the rules and cooperate in saving our culture and Kambala,"

Prakash Acharya, chief priest of the Shree Kshetra, presided over the function. Suresh Shetty Siddakatte, honourary advisor of the committee welcomed the gathering. Nonalguthu Rashmith Shetty Kaithrodi, president of the Kambala committee rendered the vote of thanks.

The programme was compered by Mohan K Shriyan, convener of the campaigning committee.
