Former Pak PM Nawaz Sharif gets 7-year jail term in graft case


Islamabad, Dec 24 (IANS): An accountability court on Monday sentenced former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to seven years in prison in Al-Azizia Steel Mills corruption reference, while acquitted him in the the Flagship Investments reference.

The Pakistan Muslim League (Nawaz) leader was taken into custody after the verdict and will be transported to Adiala Jail.

He was also fined Rs 1.5 billion in the Al-Azizia reference.

    Indian judiciary need to learn from Pakistan. For us to become MLA or MP, corruption/criminal/murder is the criteria. This is evident when we look at our parliament. 95% of politicians are either criminals/murderers/rapists/corrupt.

    After reading the news it makes me remember..., in 2015 Hindustan’s Honorable PM Shri Modiji visited the then Honorable PM of Pakistan Shriman Sherifji (now being convicted by Court on CORRUPTION charge) on X-Mas day a love thy neighbor diplomatic visit...,

    Zamana badal gaya....!!!! Now i am thinking about what happens next....???? though i have no reason to believe anything un-toward about French PM., However, no one is above law of the land....!!!
