Myanmar to hold 'world's largest book sale'


Yangon, Dec 24 (IANS): Myanmar will hold the world's largest "Big Bad Wolf Book Sale" here in January, authorities said.

Scheduled to be held at the Myanmar Event Park from January 18 to 28, the Big Bad Wolf Book Sale is known for Augmented Reality books across Asia and is the sole agent of little Hippo AR books which are believed to attract child visitors, said event organizer Read 2 Read Myanmar.

The sale will feature over 1 million new English books including fiction, non-fiction, business, health, cooking and comics, Xinhua news agency reported.

The book sale started in Malaysia in 2009 and has been held in countries and regions like Indonesia, Thailand, the Philippines, Sri Lanka and United Arab Emirates since then.
