Nigerian nabbed with 3.2 kg heroin in Gurugram


Gurugram, Dec 24 (IANS): The Special Task Force (STF) of Haryana Police here has arrested a Nigerian citizen with heroin estimated to be worth Rs 12 crore, police said on Monday.

The suspected drug peddler has been identified as T. Ahmed, who is in his early 40s. He is currently living in a rented accommodation in New Delhi.

STF Deputy Inspector General of Police Satheesh Balan said that the accused was arrested by the STF's Hisar chief Pradeep Yadav and his team members - Inspector Sonu Malik, police officer Mahender Singh and others - near Sikanderpur Metro Station here.

"Ahmed was on a two wheeler when he was arrested. Heroin weighing 3.2 kg was recovered from his possession," another senior police officer told IANS.

He has been taken on police remand for interrogation.
