Mangaluru, Dec 27: ‘Christmas 2018’ was celebrated at Expert Pre University College Valachil with pomp and gaiety commemorating the birth of Jesus Christ. It is the tradition of Expert to celebrate the festivals of all faiths as they promote national integration, harmony and peaceful co-existence.

The chief guest, a noted actress and singer Esther Noronha marked the beginning of the celebration by inaugurating the Christmas crib by lighting the candles. Speaking on the occasion, Noronha felt immensely pleased with Expert’s vision of education which treats all faiths alike without discrimination and stressed the need to be good human beings and realize the noble values behind celebrating festivals.

Ankush N Nayak, director Information Technology, Expert Group of Institutions presided over the function. Addressing the gathering he outlined the importance of celebrating the festivals by understanding the humanitarian values embedded in them. He honoured the chief guest Esther Noronha with a memento.

The highlight of the celebration was the singing of carols and cultural activities by the students. Principal Dr N K Vijayan Karippal graced the occasion.

Pooja P J introduced the guest to the gathering. Varsha Shetty accorded a cordial welcome to the dignitaries and compered the programme. Master Basavana Gowda proposed the vote of thanks.
