IED detected in J&K, defused


Srinagar, Dec 27 (IANS): An improvised explosive device (IED) was detected by the army on the Srinagar-Bandipora road in Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday that was later defused, officials said.

The IED was detected by a patrol party of the army in Guroora village, police said.

"The IED was later defused by the bomb disposal squad thereby averting a major tragedy on the road," a police officer said.
