Puttur, Dec 31: In an incident which happened in Big Rose Resort at Parladka near Kumbra in the taluk five days back, the life of a boy, who had arrived at the resort along with other family members, was endangered when he was playing in the swimming pool. The locals had succeeded in rescuing the boy from the jaws of death.

A video clip of the boy struggling for his life inside the pool has become viral in social websites.

A family from Salmara had organized a party at the said resort on December 26 afternoon. After most of the people who took part in the party left, five boys who were with their parents, entered the swimming pool. An eight-year-old boy, who saw the children playing in water, directly entered the pool, which was not noticed by his parents.

The boy then began to drown. Seeing that he was fighting to save himself from drowning, and seeking help, and trying to jump out of water with raised hands but repeatedly going back into the water, his mother raised an alarm. Immediately, a relative jumped into the pool and brought the boy out. The boy was provided first aid and taken to hospital where he has since recovered.

Manager of Big Rose Resort, Majeed, said that those who attended the programme entered the swimming pool against rules, as those who want to use swimming pool have to buy tickets for the same. He said that the parents of the children allowed their children to enter the pool without bringing it to the knowledge of the management, insisting that whenever people seek permission to enter the pool, the staff of the resort keep monitoring their safety. He said he has watched the video clip.
