Will probe Narendra Modi, AgustaWestland link: Congress

New Delhi, Dec 31(DC): The Congress on Sunday said that it was fully committed to probing Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his government’s “collusion” with AgustaWestland if it comes to power in 2019 even as it termed the Enforcement Directorate as an embarrassing disaster under the present dispensation.

The Party claimed that after the BJP came to power at the Centre, the Defence Ministry lifted the ban on AgustaWestland which had been imposed during UPA reign and allowed it to bid for 100 naval utility helicopters.

 

Congress chief spokesperson Randeep Surjewala said: “The ED may save the Modi government today, but when it is voted out of power in 2019, we are committed to fully investigate Modi and his government’s collusion with AgustaWestland”.

On Friday, ED, which was investigating the case, told a court that accused middleman Christian Michel has made a reference to “Mrs Gandhi”.

Mr Surjewala alleged that the government was pressuring Michel to make false claims against the Gandhis.

    Supreme Court judges did not conduct right investigation into Rafael case/issue knowing that any misappropriation is proved, surely that may hinder BJP's scope in coming elections. The issue is not resolved and opposition is demanding to investigate entire issue underJPC. So the outstanding queries are not yet answered by ruling government.
    One by one and step by step some secret dealings will unfold eventually.

    And what if Congress is not elected to power?
    Congress had no material to show in supreme court during the Rafael case. It was only talking and talking.
    Now they are saying we will probe.
    Why wait? go with your documents and approach the court.
    Remember how swamy approached the court with his documents and made a case agaisnt sonia and rahul in national herald case?. He did it when UPA was in power.
    If you have the proof, approach court.
    Your spit and run tactics doesnt work any more. It suits Kejriwal who is shameless.
    Shameless because he has apologised to so many people when defamation case was put on him.

    mohan, Mangalore — well you did not understand the basis of the Supreme Court ruling and don't forget the Govt with its expertise in coning people the past 4.5 years tricked the Supreme court as well by falsifying documents!

    Importantly, immediate IT raids on BJP members to scrutinize their assets, business entity, wealth of family members & relatives because during these five year period all the IT raids which were conducted or targeted were only on Congress party leaders. This should be done on a priority basis.

    Very good initiative and should act as a deterrent to BJP governments administrative blunders during these 5 years term.
    Also, try to look into the name changes of historical places/events/islands etc.
