Shikha Sharma retires as Axis Bank MD & CEO, Amitabh Chaudhry to succeed


Mumbai, Jan 1 (IANS): Lending major Axis Bank's Managing Director and CEO Shikha Sharma retired on Monday. She will be succeeded by Amitabh Chaudhry, effective January 1, 2019.

"We wish to inform you that Smt. Shikha Sharma, Managing Director and CEO of Axis Bank Ltd has retired from the services of the bank and has accordingly ceased to be the Managing Director and CEO of the bank, with effect from close of business hours on 31st December 2018," the company said in a regulatory filing to the BSE.

"Further, ...Amitabh Chaudhry will be the Managing Director & CEO of the bank with effect from 1st January 2019 on the terms and conditions relating to the said appointment, including remuneration, as approved by the RBI, subject to the approval of the shareholders of the bank," it said.
