Kaup: MLA Lalaji Mendon meets DVS, urges early detection of missing fishermen

Kaup, Jan 3: MLA from here, Lalaji R Mendon, met union minister, D V Sadananda Gowda, at New Delhi on Wednesday January 2 and pressurized him to hold talks with the defence and home ministers and ensure that concrete steps are taken immediately to find out the whereabouts of a boat and seven fishermen from Malpe who have gone missing under mysterious circumstances.

Lalaji Mendon said that Sadananda Gowda promised him to hold discussions on the issue with union home minister, Rajnath Singh, on January 3, to consider the matter of availing the services of military in the matter.

Mendon said that a search operation through helicopter has been launched already and Maharashtra government's help has been sought to find out the missing fishermen.
