AAP offers support to actor Prakash Raj for elections

New Delhi, Jan 5 (IANS): The Aam Aadmi Party on Friday extended support to actor Prakash Raj, who will contest the Lok Sabha election as an independent candidate.

The actor, who has been critical of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his government, announced on Tuesday that he would contest the Lok Sabha election as an independent candidate, without naming the constituency.

"I welcome the decision of Prakash Raj and all good people are welcome in politics," AAP leader Manish Sisodia said in a meeting in Bangalore with the actor and the party's volunteers.

The party, in a tweet said it "offered open support to him".

The actor, in response, thanked the AAP and Sisodia "for the assuring support to my political journey".

The meeting was organised by the Bangalore unit of the party in presence Karnataka Convenor Prithvi Reddy.

Earlier, the actor had tweeted saying: "I will be contesting in the coming parliamentary elections as an independent candidate. Details of the constituency soon".

After his announcement, the Telangana Rashtra Samithi had also offered him support.

This is drama to attract Congress attention. He is thinking he is a winning candidate if he get Congress Seat. So he is waiting for a call from Congress but still waiting to get a call from Dinesh Gundu Rao.
All the best , Go ahead.

I do not think he will be PM again as people are fed up with him. His policies have never benefited common man instead made them worse. You can fool all the people some of the times only by fake talking, not all the time.

Be Patient! Do not be a blind follower! Ask your own friends. do you respect him the same way when he started his term. What we thought was horse but it turned out to be something else. When failed in all fields and facing resentment of people turning to temple issue is a common thing. that too will not help as people are very cautious. No employment, sky rocketing pries of essential goods and services and many more issue made even hard core bjp supporters to think and have a second thought

We need stronger AAP in Karnataka. AAP is the best option for India today. The development works undertaken by AAP in Delhi is commendable. We are fed up with BJP/Congress/Janata Dal and all others as all of these are just criminals and corrupt. Even though Modi and Congress tried to destabilize AAP government in Delhi, AAP survived just because it is giving corrupt free governance and pro people schemes.

    Reshmi Salian,
AAP is just enjoying state revenues built up by Sheela Dixit for the past 15 years. Kejriwal is depleting the reserves by giving water electricity at subsidized price and spending on advertisements. It is for the next party which will be elected, to suffer.
Delhi people are fools to remove an able administrator like Sheela Dixit and give the power to the new comer Kejriwal. Kejri wal just looks for short time vote gains while Dixit has a long term vision.

Shankar..time will tell. At least Kejriwal is giving water and electricity at subsidized rates and electricity companies were looting and he successfully controlled their looting. Coming back to Congress, what is the main achievements? No doubt Sheila Dixit was able administrator. But corruption was at it's peak. Congress uses farm loan waiver to garner votes and this will affect treasury very badly. Look at Karnataka. Due to this, they increased fuel prices. Ultimately who will suffer? We common people will suffer. I don't think farm loan waiver will benefit all genuine farmers as it includes lot of rich people who will use the benefit. So subsidies are better than any waivers. So, Kejriwal is better than congress or BJP.
