Vijay Mallya declared ‘Fugitive Economic Offender’ by Mumbai court

Daijiworld Media Network

Mumbai, Jan 5: Absconding business tycoon Vijay Mallya has been declared a fugitive economic offender by a special anti-money laundering court in Mumbai. He is the first tycoon to be named under the new law to prevent financial fraud.

The tag now allows the government to confiscate Vijay Mallya’s properties in the country.

Mallya currently faces extradition from the United Kingdom, where the liquor baron fled to in 2016, after a court ordered his return to India to face fraud charges resulting from the collapse of his defunct Kingfisher Airlines.

Mallya left India with owing more than $1 billion after defaulting on loan payments to state-owned banks and allegedly misusing the funds which were availed to bail out his Kingfisher Airlines.

Mallya has said earlier that he had made an ‘unconditional offer’ to an Indian court in a bid to settle the charges, but denies that was an admission of guilt.

"I cannot understand how my extradition decision and my settlement offer are linked in any way," he had tweeted on December 10 last year.

"Wherever I am physically, my appeal is 'please take the money'. I want to stop the narrative that I stole money," he had said.

Mallya’s financial dealings are being investigated by the Central Bureau of Investigation and the Enforcement Directorate.

Mallya was once known as the ‘King of Good Times’. He has been living in a sprawling $15 million mansion in southeast England but has denied absconding.

Closing the doors & gates after robbery or loot is the toothless Fugitive Economic Offender bill BJP supporters are glorifying themselves with this verdict!
Mallya had transferred all his properties to his son or others name, which was his first act after he fled with the blessing of Jaitley who advised him to flee.
No courts can now attack any property of a person who has no properties in his name at all.
Same way bhai Modis have fled the country though PM knew about their offense in 2016 itself & hid it under the carpet. Whatever was seized of his remaining properties & diamonds were peanuts compared to the amount he swindled from the banks.
Now some allegations of UPA helping the debt ridden person getting bailout is only an effort of any govt. in seeing the welfare of its employees & making any company sustain in a cutthroat competitive market like aviation, Air India is one example though it is a Public Ltd. entity.
BJP can't exonerate itself by its acts of face wash or actions like closing the door after cattle have bolted from its pen.

Oh , you guys are in hurry now ,isnt it?
Maybe you do not know ,it was Modi who brought the fugitive offender law.
During congress, every crook stayed in the country because they knew they wouldnt be caught.
Now after Modi, they are scared and running away.

Vijay Mallya declared ‘Fugitive Economic Offender’ by Mumbai court. Thanks to Prime Minister Modi and Finance Minister for this great achievement who paved his escape during BJP own ruling.

Perhaps Vijay Mallya is the only 'Wilful Defaulter' to the public sector bank, who can't pay his disgruntled Kingfisher Airlines and bid for IPL teams and release Calendar girls.

If Vijaya Mallaya is ‘Fugitive Economic Offender’, what about Anil Ambani's reliance who has defaulted Canadian company Ericsson of Rs2,000 but able to get a contract of Rs30,000 crores in 'Reliance Industries' which has no official website, no infrastructure, no office.
How did 'Fugitive Economic Offender' with Indian passport fly through Indian airspace cleared by immigration is able to settle in the United Kingdom still continuing his nightlife?

Sir, Your faith in BJP has blinded your thinking ability.
    1. If the case is Supreme Court(Reliance has already violated by not paying to Ericson as set by the SC), how the economic defaulter is able to get the contract in Defence?
    2. If the Economic Offender Act is enacted by PM Modi's government in 2016, How does Chota Modi, Mehul Choksy and 49 other offenders presented by Rajay Sabha member MJ Akbar of Me too vanished India?
Gentleman, In a democracy you have full rights to choose your liking. But blind faith will only destroy India.
Hope you understand the gravity of the situation or else ready to be 'Pakoda' seller with Engg degree.

First of all, the case has come just a few days back.
When was the Rafael deal signed? Just a few days back?
Secondly, no contract is given by the govt to Ambani on the Rafael.

Economic offender act was enacted by Modi in 2016.Its because of this act that they can now swiftly act against the offenders.
In 60 years, congress never thought about that act. Thats why all the crooks were still there in india because they knew they wouldnt be caught.

Sir, Dassault, one of the world's most established and experienced defence manufacturers, picked Anil Ambani's debt-ridden firm as a partner in India, "because it was registered with the MCA (Ministry of Corporate Affairs) and had land in Nagpur which provided access to the runway," said top sources at the French firm.
Why Prime Minister Modi Chose Anil Ambani's Firm Despite Massive Debt over Hindustan Aeronautical Limited with more than 70 years of experience established since the time Mysore Vadayer?
Gentleman, Your argument just like you want stitch clothes having without materials. The fact is it is the Prime Minister Modi government submitted the wrong information to the Supreme Court which they want to amend saying clerical error after the justice.

    Digest this if its possible.
"Comparing the approach of two governments -- one that was led by Manmohan Singh and the present one by Modi, and referring to a letter by Mallya to then Prime Minister Singh seeking help to tide over his financial woes and in getting a fresh loan, Patra said: "Then was the story of helping Vijay Mallya, today is the story of nabbing him."
Patra said that Manmohan Singh had then asked his Principal Secretary T.K.A. Nair to help Mallya.
He recalled a press conference by Singh on November 14, 2011 where the former Prime Minister purportedly said the government "needed to find ways to get Kingfisher out of trouble" when it was not able to pay back loans to the banks and was defaulting.
Patra alleged that not only Manmohan Singh but P. Chidambaram and may others in the Congress were helping Mallya, whereas the current government is trying to nab him.

You dont even know the facts.
    Nirav modi fled in 2017.
But the economic offender act is bringing him back. More than that they are able to attach the properties more easily.
Nirav Modi scam started in 2007. Guess who was in power then?
If Nirav Modi comes back ,lot of skeletons will fall out of congress cupboard.
How did Nirav Modi did such a big scam in 2007 without the hand of congress is the question?

Sir, You script good stories. Truth is bitter. The law came into existence in 2016. Chota Modi fled in 2017. Do you say the same law becomes obsolete in 2018?
Why there is no Interpol Red corner notice to extradite him?
