Home minister visits Udupi, to hold meeting with police on missing boat issue

Udupi, Jan 5: Home minister M B Patil who visited Udupi for the first time after becoming home minister will hold a meeting of police officials in SP’s office here to coordinate about search operations for seven missing fishermen.

A meeting in the office of deputy commissioner was held in this connection. District-in-charge minister Jayamala, former MLA Pramod Madhwaraj, U R Sabhapathi, Udupi BJP MLA Haladi Srinivas Shetty and Byndoor MLA Sukumar Shetty were present.

The home minister said that he has come to visit the residences of missing fishermen as they are anxious for the last 21 days.

“I have already held meeting in Bengaluru in this connection and will hold another round of discussions in SP’s office and coastal guards,” he said.
