Koppala, Jan 5: In a heart wrenching incident here, Shekharayya, the head of the family has fed poison to his wife and four children and committed suicide by hanging from a ceiling fan. Though the reason for the extreme step is not known, it is said that he had borrowed huge sums of money.

The incident happened in Metagala village in Koppala district. Those who committed suicide are identified as Shekharayya Beedanala, his wife Jayamma, children Basamma, Gauramma, Savithri and Parvathi.

Shekharayya had already sold a portion of his land and was preparing to sell the remaining two acres of land. His relatives and villagers said that the family committed suicide as they were unable to bear the brunt of lenders.

Its very very sad news. Its unfortunate that finger countring families have 90 percent of indian wealth who feed their dogs and cats with special food and spend billions without considering poors who are committing suicide due to poverty. Our great leader is shouting in his foreign tours that india is shining and we have no poverty. He is spending billions in lavish foreign tours whereas poor indian is strugging for one time food. Instead of focusing on core issues like poverty, unemployment, killing of minorities int he name of Cow, rape etc etc, our Govt is busy in forcing illogical trip talaq bill in Parliament. 90 percent of Indians are not concerned on triple talaq bill or Ram mandir. However, this Govt is adamant on these issues and not bothered about the sufferings of common indian. Its unfortunate that we have such irresponsible Govt. We should blame ourselves also who selected these creatures to take care of us. Billions of dollars are looted and this Govt is doing nothing.

@shiju calicut,I find here why blame Govt.for the suecide?does the head of family self is responsible?should he feed poison to his family because he made a large amount of loan which he knew not possible to pay?One should stretch legs as long as a matress.and when failed kill children and wife?Offer his innocent children?Sure he couldnt.but there is always a way to comeout.but not end life.

We need a potent Chief minister like Umman Chandy. When he was the CM of Kerala, he implemented a very major operation called 'operation Kubera' where all loan sharks were brought to book.
Any grieving party could call atoll free number and complain about high interests for the money lent by loan sharks. Now, Kerala is almosrt free of loan sharks. Of course they are coming up in under the current rule of CPM!!!

So sad.He himself should have thought before taking a large amount of money, whether he could pay it back at all?Now he offered his wife and innocent children too for it.what a tragody.when he couldnt pay back atleast consulted some wise person or other friend regarding this.Heartfelt sympathys to their family.May their souls find peace in Heaven.
