IT department seeks details from Durga Puja organisers


Kolkata, Jan 8 (IANS): The Income Tax (IT) department has slapped a notice on some of the major Durga Puja organisers here, seeking details about their expenditure in 2018 and asked them to report on Tuesday, an official said on Monday.

The notice from the Commissioner of Income Tax (TDS) was served under section 133(6) of IT Act.

The organisers were required to furnish PAN, TAN, receipt and expenditure incurred in 2018, details of expenditure break-up and the same for the previous financial year.
