Bangalore, Dec 29: A 20-year-old youth was killed when sentries on guard at the Army Flag Staff House opened fire at him near Trinity Circle, Airport Road, on Sunday morning.

The deceased, identified as Mohammad Mukarram Pasha, was a resident of BTM Layout and a first year BCom student at Baldwin’s Methodist College. His father Mushtaq is a driver in a private company.

Mukarram and a friend were riding a bike at high speed after a party, when they approached Trinity Circle on Airport Road. Suspecting a drag race, the police directed them to stop. But the duo fled the checkpoint.
The police followed and spotted the bike near Brigadier P S Ravindranath’s residence at the Flag Staff House. The guard there said he had noticed no one and the police went away.

A few minutes later, the guard heard someone speaking in Urdu on top of the house, requesting his friends to come to the spot with a car. He went upstairs and found Mukarram. Concluding him to be a terrorist, the guard returned with his rifle and directed Mukarram to surrender. However, the youth jumped down and the guard fired a warning shot in the air.

At the same time, Mukarram’s friends came near the house with a car and Mukarram tried to get inside the car. The guard fired again and a bullet pierced through Mukarram’s body.

Mukarram’s friends rushed him to St Philomena Hospital and told the staff that Mukarram was injured in an accident and immediately left the place. By the time the doctors attended on  him, Mukarram had breathed his last.

The police were informed and Mukarram’s identity was established based on some chits found on the body.
Meanwhile an official release from the Ministry of Defence (MoD) stated that “Army Flag Staff House” was intruded by a man who was being chased by the police. After a thorough search, the sentries on guard sensed the presence of somebody on the top of the house.

Before the guards could apprehend the intruder, he jumped down and fled towards the compound wall towards the main road. When the intruder did not heed the armed guard’s warning to surrender, the intruder was fired upon resulting in his death, the release added.

I cannot understand why current youth don't obey the rules. What the old ages parents will do now after bringing up to this age. Why the youth didn't get any other place to run. there is burial ground opposite to this. Simple thinghe would have done is stopped at trafic poilce. else surrendered when military told to surrender.
