DD News vacancy requires incumbent to provide reports to PMO, execute its instructions


New Delhi, Jan 12 (IANS): Ahead of the general elections, Doordarshan News is planning to vastly upscale its social media presence in the coming months with the Prime Minister's Office (PMO) expected to keep a tab on its efforts to compete with private channels in digital space.

Broadcast Engineering Consultants India Limited, a government enterprise under the Information and Broadcasting Ministry, has come out with an advertisement for 24 vacancies that specify detailed roles and responsibilities with the Social Media Officer and Project Delivery Head also responsible "for providing reports to the PMO and to execute the instructions laid out by PMO office".

The applications, for "digital/social media project", were invited on contract basis initially for six months and carry remuneration ranging from Rs 47,000 to Rs 1,95,000 per month. The last date for sending applications was January 10.

The responsibilities of the Social Media Officer and Project Delivery Head include working as team leader of social media, handling day to day affairs, hiring and managing the right talent pool for the social media team and ncreasing the social reach of DD News.

The "parameters" recommended for the post include sound knowledge of global social media and digital trends, advertising, marketing, team management, being tech savvy and being comfortable in use of new emerging technologies.

The vacancies advertised include Delivery Planning and Execution Managers (Shift), Senior Image/Video Analyst and Editor, Video/Image Editor and Optimisers, Creative Writers and Social Media Mavens, Social Media Entrant, Online Research Managers, Social Media Creative Art Director, People Operations and Onboarding Manager, Data Scientists, Strategy Manager and Insights Officer, Head of Analytics and Insights and Social Media Delivery Planning Officer.

The last three posts carry remuneration of Rs 1,95,000 per month.

Among the roles of Delivery Planning and Execution Managers (Shift) will be increasing social media outreach of DD News in Hindi and English through Facebook, Twitter and YouTube.

The Video/Image Editor and Optimisers will be required to optimise and edit so that videos and images are delivered in socially shareable formats most suited for the social media platforms.

The Creative Writers and Social Media Mavens will be responsible to identify and write content which will connect with the digital audience and will increase visibility for DD News content on social media platform.

The responsibilities of Social Media Entrant include "gathering story and content for trending stories by themselves or as guided".

The Online Research Managers will also be responsible for understanding and predicting "the trends for future needs backed with research and data mining."

The post also requires the incumbent to prepare comparative report for trends used by other private channels and by DD News besides being responsible for analysis of content posted over the internet.

    Is he going to use government machinery for election campaign? Don't want leave chair, will go to any extent to be in power. In 2014 he promised vikas, ab vikas to hua nahi,, desh to vinash ki samt jaa raha hai,,, vote mange bhi to kaise mange, kuch hai hi nahi dene ke liye.
    Ram ka istemal bhi saturation ko pahunch chuka hai aur na Gaye bachayegi is bar.
