Pakistan frustrated as it can't push militants into J&K: Governor

Jammu, Jan 12 (IANS): Jammu and Kashmir Governor Satya Pal Malik said on Saturday Pakistan is getting frustrated as it cannot push militants into the state.

Speaking to media on the sidelines of a function in winter capital Jammu, Malik said Indian forces are appropriately responding to provocation from Pakistan, but these things do not get reported in the media.

"Our forces are responding appropriately to any provocation, but the news does not come here.

"Pakistan is frustrated because it is not able to push in infiltrators. Pakistan was against the panchayat polls and is now unhappy over its successful conclusion", Malik said.

Referring to Friday's killing of an Army major and a soldier in an improvised explosion device (IED) explosion in Rajouri district, the Governor said, "Such acts demonstrate Pakistan's frustration".

The Governor said that there is complete peace in the Valley and that security forces are defeating the designs of the militants with the support of the people.

Replying to a question on the resignation of Kashmiri IAS officer Shah Faesal who intends to join politics, the Governor said it would have been good if he had continued in his service. He, however, wished him well.
