Daijiworld Media Network - Mysuru (MS)

Mysuru, Jan 13: "No one liked me when I was alive. At least like my death video and share it," said a girl student who killed herself after making the video.

Yasmin Taj (18), a resident of Kaveri Nagar of Bannimantap in the city, who was depressed saying that she is not able to cope with the studies, committed suicide by taking an overdose of sleeping pills.

Yasmin was a student of JSS college of commerce in the city. She has made this video before committing suicide and has also requested to share the same.

"Though I wish to learn, I am not able to grasp the subjects. I wanted to become a singer or a lawyer but the cruel fate has not given me an opportunity. As I had health issues, I could not attend college. Due to this reason I did not get the hall ticket. I could not achive anything in life. When I was alive, no one liked me. At least now share this video of my death. Through this let everyone know that Yasmin is dead," said the video made in Telugu language, Which Yasmin has shared before committing suicide.

A case in this regard is registered in the Metagalli police station of the city.

It is indeed very sad that this beautiful girl decided to end her life. Despair does not permit one to see that the moment is just a passing phase - what other promises life had in store for her - she will never know. In this day of numerous opportunities, it is not necessary for one to bear hope on academic performance alone. Our country has no easy means to psychiatry and there is a stigma attached to it.

Joan Fernadez's sharing of her own life experience is truly touching and hopefully gives others in similar circumstances hope that better days will come.

Many years ago, I was in a similar spot considering suicide. I also felt that my own family didn't really understand me. It is easy to say only if she would have spoken to someone. But when you are in that place you cant even reach out to anyone. Luckily for me as I was living in hostel, my friends noticed that and they were the ones who reached out to me. They were the ones who helped me open up actually, instead of closing away. They helped me through my dark times. After which I was able to not be afraid to choose counselling and volunteering work to get my mind off those thoughts.
Many years later, these people are still in touch and care about my well being. It is unfortunate though that this young girl decided to go ahead with ending her life, it's effects will remain with her family and friends. May her soul Rest in Peace.

She had health issues and other reasons too but there could have been some remedy if at all she sought help and counselling from elders. Loser will face worse fate if not ready to challenge and build some positive attitude and wish to defy defeat in life. So sad indeed.

Why do you bring blue whale game here. This is vanished long time to a very great extent.

I have come across many young girls who are doing their high school and PUC, have openly told me, in their house they are living like house arrest. One girl openly told me, my father has mom and we have no connection with the outside world. Even TV is not allowed to watch. Such are the situations in some fanatic, mental houses. I do not know, when are girls will become more bold and face the situations.

Why this young generation is taking this type of step, is this the only solution? It seems they are not worried about their parents sacrifice which is given for their sake. Sad...

Parents should not put pressure on the children. All children are not the same in studies. Parents should be given counselling. Feel sad for Yasmin.

Parents responsibility is to give at least basic knowledge of Islam. I think she did't knew suicide is haram in Islam and music as well.

Unfortunately Muslim children know the names of singer, model, cricketer, film hero etc., whereas they don't know the name of prophets or their story (e.g Prophet Ayyub (Pbuh).

I honestly believe lack of communication and sharing and keeping the problems faced in day today life within themselves makes the youngsters depressed and they conclude to end the precious life is the biggest challenge for the society. Be brave and face the challenge. Definitely someone will like and appreciate you

Very sad. Timely professional help could have saved her life.
Parents should not impose studies on children who can not cope up. There are so many other practical studies like computer courses, beautician, music teacher to survive in this world.
