Taj Hotels to Change Brand Name in Kerala

Kochi, Jan 3: The Taj Hotels Resorts and Palaces, India's largest hospitality group, on Friday announced rebranding of two of its hotels in Kerala to the newly launched brand -- The Gateway Hotel.

The two hotels -- Taj Residency, Ernakulam, and Taj Garden Retreat -- will be known as The Gateway Hotel and The Gateway Hotel Janardhanapuram, Varkala, respectively, The Gateway Hotel said in a press release here.

The Gateway Hotel is a new brand catering to the emerging physchological set up of contemporary travellers.

"In our endeavour to offer new experiences to our guests, The Gateway Hotel will offer an experience that is refreshingly enjoyable, hassle free, consistent and crisp yet courteous," Ajay Misra, senior Vice-President, sales and marketing, Indian Hotels company Ltd said.

Launched in September last year, 'The Gateway Hotel' is a pan-India network of upscale hotels and resorts targeted at the modern traveller.

With 29 Gateway Hotels (18 operating and 11 under development) already under its fold, the management is targeting 50 operating and signed hotels in the near future. With aggressive expansion plans, the management is open to owned hotels, as well as management contracts. The objective is to ensure a presence across all business and leisure locations across India.
