Modi most trusted leader, Rahul distant second, finds survey

New Delhi, Jan 25 (IANS): Prime Minister Narendra Modi has emerged as the most trusted political leader in a national survey with an approval rating of 53 per cent, as Congress President Rahul Gandhi came a distant second at 26.9 per cent.

However, in South Indian states of Andhra Pradesh, Kerala and Tamil Nadu, Gandhi emerged a more popular leader, according to findings of the the "Firstpost-IPSOS National Trust Survey" in which 34,470 individuals from 291 urban wards and 690 villages participated. The survey would be published on Saturday.

Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee polled 4 per cent and Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) supremo Mayawati polled 2 per cent votes.

In the survey, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) also scored high, especially in the Hindi heartland states.

"Respondents rate the Modi-led government highly in the Hindi heartland and in western India," a statement said on Friday.

Findings also suggest greater trust for regional parties in their respective states, mainly in Tamil Nadu, Odisha, West Bengal, Kerala, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.

"Among public institutions, Indians trust the Office of the Prime Minister of the country the most (75 per cent) topping even the Supreme Court (73 per cent) and Parliament (72 per cent). The institution of the Principal Opposition party gets only 53 per cent approval," the statement said.

Most Trusted for What??? I wonder!
    1. Someone says He sacrificed every thing for the country....
the question is what he had to sacrifice?... which struggle or war he participated?... Its ok if you say he has dedicated himself for Sanghi fascist ideology.
    2. Somebody says he has no house nor he accumulated assets.... the question is why he needs a house?... when he is not bothered or concerned about his family... he never cared to be with them earlier by choosing to travel towards Himalayas and spending even the most happiest moments of Deepawali in Jungles.... deserting the saat ka janam ka rishta wali wife...
And now traveling the world like Ibn e Batoota and Hiuen Tsiang of the Modern Times on the tax payers money.
And as he himself says that he is ready to give up the chair and move ahead as Phakeer (... not in real sense!) so where comes the question of sacrifice and contribution to the country!!!

The Narendra Modi government has spent ₹4,343 crore on publicity since it came to power in May 2014, an agency under the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting has said in reply to an Right to Information (RTI) query.

The expenditure was incurred on advertisements in the print and electronic media as well as outdoor publicity, the Central government agency said in response to the RTI.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s hectic travel schedule and his government’s advertising blitz over the past four-and-a-half years have cost Indian taxpayers about 65.9 billion rupees ($920 million).

The globe-trotting prime minister’s 84 trips around the world cost roughly $280 million, while the government spent $640 million on promoting Modi’s flagship projects and achievements, according to new government data.

I would rather say 54% is too less, in this competitive world when student trying to get admission in professional colleges these days above 90% were most of the reputable colleges cut off limit is 95%.

This saga of awards, surveys, and publicity will continue which rightly predicted by the 'Cobra post' in its latest sting.

Firstpost is an Indian news and media website. The site is a part of the Network 18 media conglomerate owned by Reliance Industries. So in return of Rs40,000 crores of 'Rafale Jet' deal to Ambani's one more paid survey.
