100% chances of hacking EVMs, says Chandrababu Naidu

Amaravati, Jan 27 (IANS): Stating that there are 100% chances of hacking EVMs, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Saturday said the Election Commission of India should either go for counting of VVPAT slips or revert to the old ballot paper system.

The Telugu Desam Party (TDP) chief asked his party MPs to raise the issue during the Budget session of Parliament, beginning January 31.

Addressing the TDP Parliamentary Party here, he said since many political parties raised their doubts about the Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs), the Election Commission should take note of such complaints.

He said the poll body should either ensure counting of 100% slips of VVPAT (Voter-Verified Paper Audit Trail) or revert to the ballot paper system.

Naidu said like any technology, the EVM could also be misused and it was easy for those writing the software to hack it. He said that since Election Commission is only a referee, it should not enforce a system in which the political parties have no trust.

He asked party MPs to oppose the use of EVMs in the coming elections during the Parliament session.

TDP MP Y. S. Chowdary told reporters that the party would oppose the Centre's move to introduce a full-fledged Budget for 2019-20. "How can a government which has a mandate for just two months present the Budget for the entire financial year?" he asked.

Naidu asked TDP MPs to put pressure on the NDA government to present only a vote-on-account budget.

Some statement just to be in news by CB Naidu. So do you expect people to vote for a 'Mahaaaaghatbandhan' of 23 parties that has no 'face' yet ? Unless a leader who would be the PM is announced , people wont take a call. Moreover please note that all the so called leaders of the Bandhan are limited only to their states. Some are not even safe in their constituencies and may look for safer zones. Some leaders of the Bandhan have distanced themselves from others. Its a diff ball game all together at national level.

EC should give a strong warning to those against EVM. Those against EVM should be banned for life with criminal cases. In 4 states they won the election and still they talk nonsense.

Dear Deepak, I am sorry for you as you are blind though you have eyes and dead though you have ears. What you are saying is heard from bjp who have won the election by hacking EVM. I am sorry to say that you are not willing to accept the truth. Electronic specialists of overseas countries are saying that there is 100 percent chance of hacking EVM and you people are not willing to accept it and you are only accept what bjp says. Its too much. Tell me about single country where EVMs are being used for election. If EVM is 100 percent correct, why its not being used in other countries. Why bjp is scared of going for ballot. This shows that bjp is winning only after hacking EVM and I am sorry that EC is also supporting bjp as if they are paid by bjp. Indian democracy is in danger in the hands of these liers and cheaters. Thos who are cheating Indian public by hacking EVM should be banned for life and stripped of indian citizenship including supporter like Deepakraj.

    I fully agree with Naidu.

It has come to my knowledge, soon after losing 5 States Assembly elections recently, BJP has hatched a master plan based on EVM hacking on Pan India basis to recover lost ground in LS elections, which will catch everyone with lightning surprise.

I even tried to explain the same to one of the losers of recent Assembly elections in Karnataka through a friend of mine as well.

I am equally surprised at the silence of losers of Karnataka Assembly elections, who initially felt the same as Naidu, but had not gone much further in bringing back the formula of either go for counting of VVPAT slips or revert to the old ballot paper system.

Coastal Congress leaders should take serious note of this immediately.
