Udupi: Voice of Karavali - 2019 auditions receive enthusiastic response

Udupi, Jan 27: Yet again, coastal singing competition 'Voice of Karavali - 2019, Season-3’ received enthusiastic response at its third edition of audition held on Sunday, January 27 from 8.30 am onwards at Rotary Hall, Brahmavar.

It was presented by Rotary Brahmavar in association with Being Social and Daijiworld media.

Voice of Karavali is an unrivaled music contest. It provides a suitable base for music talents. A pool of talents lined up at audition hall and more than 120, between ages 14 to 35 years registered their names.

The participants came from not only twin districts but also from far off places to showcase their talent. All contestants rendered Kannada film songs, emotional and devotional Konkani songs and tried to impress the judges to their best. A maximum of 2.5 minutes were given to each contestant.

The chief guest Sudheer Kumar Shetty, president of Rotary club inaugurated the programme by lighting the lamp. .

“From past three years, Rotary Brahmavar has been conducting this show successfully. Many budding talents have got opportunity to excel in their dream field. We wanted to continue this show as earlier,” Shetty said.

Another guest of the event Avinash Kamath of Being Social said, “The two seasons of Voice of Karavali was completed successfully. The audition is not for winning a competition. It gives an amazing experience and one can learn from that experience. He urged the emerging singers to face challenges and enjoy the process of audition. Just participate in the competition, sing from your heart and soul.”

Judge and a popular singer Yaduraj Malpe said, “There is a close relation between literature and music. Today’s generation is getting opportunity to make their dream come true. Let them make good use of it.”

Popular singers Yaduraj Malpe and Vinay Havanje judged the audition.

Alwyn Andrade, former president of Rotary Brahmavar welcomed the gathering and Sudheer Poojary proposed vote of the thanks.

Winners will be awarded title ‘Voice of Karavali - 2019', based on judges' selection. Each reward comprises cash prize, permanent trophies and silver coin.

The grand finale of the season -3 competitions will be held on February 17 from 6 pm onwards.

The audition round was held according to participants choice. Out of total number, 25 people will be selected in the first round. On the same day afternoon, second round (with track music) gets started from 3pm onwards.

The first five winners will receive cash prizes and special prizes will be awarded for the participants.

First prize - Rs 15,000 cash, permanent trophy and silver coin

Second prize -Rs 10,000 cash, permanent trophy and silver coin

Third prize - Rs 5,000 cash, permanent trophy and silver coin

Fourth prize - Rs 3000 cash, permanent trophy and silver coin

Fifth prize- Rs. 2000 cash, permanent Trophy and Silver coin

Each final contestant will be awarded with Rs 1000 cash, permanent trophy and silver coin.

Several attractive rewards will be given for audience.

About Rotary Brahmavar

Rotary club Brahmavar was established in 1973, and turned 46 years successfully. Rotary Brahmavar was started with the purpose of social service, to create leadership quality and help needy with financial support. It has been doing noble work of providing free mental health awareness and treatment for the poor.

Many social commitments have been taken up by the Rotary. In 2017-18, it organised sports event for promoting youth and state level short film competition on ‘Road Safety’. The club is also providing financial support for the students and needy.

Last year, the Rotary club conducted career guidance programme for students. It organised smart class at government Kannada medium high school in Brahmavar.
