Bengaluru: MLA's statement triggers fissures in coalition - CM offers to quit

Daijiworld Media Network - Bengaluru (SP)

Bengaluru, Jan 28: The statement made by a Congress MLA has given rise to cracks in the alliance between the Congress and JD(S) in the state. Objecting to statement made by Bengaluru Development Authority chairman and Congress MLA, S T Somashekhar, that for him and several others in the party, Siddaramaiah continues to be the chief minister, Kumaraswamy said he is ready to quit.

Speaking to media persons in the city on Monday January 28, Kumaraswamy felt that reaction for Somashekhar's statement should come from the Congress and not him. He said that Congress leadership has been monitoring all the developments. He expressed the opinion that if such things continue in coalition, he is prepared to resign from his post.

"Congress leaders have been crossing the limits of understanding between coalition partners. Our patience too has a limit. If this behaviour continues, I am ready to leave," he clarified, thus sending warning signals to Congress leadership.

Even as Somashekhar's statement has all the makings of creating a political storm, Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee president, Dinesh Gundu Rao, took the initiative to cool the situation. He said that Somashekhar's statement does not behoove his stature. "He should not have issued such a statement. I will serve notice on the MLA," he stated.

During the inaugural of Kanaka community hall built by Kurubara Sangha in the city on Sunday, chief guests, Puttaranga Shetty, M T B Nagaraj, and MLA, S T Somashekhar, who participated as chief guests, had addressed the people. Somashekhar had praised his political mentor and former chief minister, Siddaramaiah, and expressed the view that he should be the chief minister of the state.

Jds Appa Maga want to be PM and CM in 2019 if there is hung parliament with 3 MP seats.Out of 3 seats,2 will be with mommaga's.Calculation is simple. In case of hung parliament, congress could ask ajja to be pm as he is acceptable to all.If this doesnt happen and if BJP or Cong get majority,Kummi will 'adjust'with congi or bjp to retain CM post. This shakuni ajja is so wise and hence even God is worried that if Ajja comes up,even he may find opportunity to replace Him.
Ajja is Such a mastermind infront of BJP and Congi immatures.

This is just a political gimmick between Congress and JDS. Both are playing a big game against BJP. Both Congress/JDS will remain in formation of the government in Karnataka. Rest all developments are for media.

If Kumaraswamy means what he says he would have resigned long back. He does not have the guts to stand up to his words .. Only does drama.

How many times are you going to cry wolf and be humiliated by your opportunistic coalition partner.??

Before elections you were fighting like cats and dogs.. You know this is a marriage of convienence.
Honeymoon period is over.. now get your act together and do some useful work or Quit..

    Great News...
If quits early, better to have a well educated CM for our State. Virtually no stability under Kumarswamy or Yeddyurappa. It is not good for Karnataka to have ping-pong elected leaders. Stability of Siddaramaiah always desired.

HDK is the most confused CM of India. One day he assures all is well in the coalition and will fight BJP together .Next day he says he will consume poison . Next day he says he will resign. Whats all this drama? If you cannot handle just back off, you will earn the respect of Kannadigas. Sit back and enjoy the Moolah . Just to be a CM will you consume poison.

All the while the Congi and their chamchas were blaming BJP. The problem was within . It all happened when Siddu was appointed as peon of Mr and Mrs HDK. Many Congi leaders were unhappy as they were not given good positions , Some had to step aside to make room for someone in JDS. Obviously no body would want this. All this just keep the ever losing Pappu's career afloat in politics.

Are you serious? Isnt it a coalition of 20 plus parties. Congress and JDS are fighting since coalition govt is formed . BJP is happy being audience. BJP wants people will realize to realize that 2 small parties are not able to run state Govt ..in 1 state and how 25 small parties will run INDIA. This is the proof.. Circumstantial evidence. You think anyone would vote for a coalition Govt after this statement from HDK??

It was never the BJP which was creating problems for the gowdas.
It was always siddu who is a sworn enemy of the gowdas who was creating problems.
Else why did he leave JDS and come to congress?

everyday some of the MLA's affliated to Siddu are criticising Gowda.
The end game is on now.
