Muscat: MCCP holds much-awaited annual drawing competition

Muscat, Jan 29: Mangalorean Catholic Centre for Parish (MCCP – Sts Peter and Paul Church, Ruwi, Sultanate of Oman) organised the much-awaited annual drawing competition for the members of MCCP on January 19.

The event witnessed enthusiastic participation of artistes of all ages who came together to appreciate the beauty of life through colours and creativity.

The day commenced at 9 am with registration followed by prayer by Fr Marian Miranda (Spiritual Director of the Konkani Community). Flavia D’souza, vice-president (Cultural, Spiritual, and Community Service) addressed the gathering, welcoming them and wishing the very best to all participants.

Dynet Fremcitha Fernandes, spiritual secretary read out the rules and the themes for various categories as follows:

Kids and adults were seen enthralled in imagination. The ambience was vibrant with bursts of colour and creativity.

Towards the end of the programme, at 12 noon, snacks were served. Certificate of participation were distributed to all participants by Roshan Tellis, vice president (Sports and Finance) as the participants were called by Melita Alva, general secretary. Winner’s names will be announced and prize distribution ceremony will take place in MCCP upcoming event.

Dean D’Souza compered the event meticulously, keeping up with the time.

The event supported for MCCP online registration by Vijai D’Cunha, Ivan Moras captured the exiting moments of the day in his camera.

The event was organised with great professionalism by all the team members of the executive committee of MCCP ‘Team-27’ for the year 2018-19, which comprises Ajith Walder as the president, Roshan Praveen Tellis as vice president-Sports & Finance, Flavia D’Souza as vice president-Cultural, Spiritual & Community Service, Melita Sheela Alva as general secretary, Ashok Kiran Pinto as honorary treasurer, Denzil Nishan Sequeir as internal auditor, Ajith D’Costa as sports secretary, Deepak Ranjan D’Souza as cultural secretary, Walter Mendonca as spiritual secretary, and Dynet Fremcitha Fernandes as community service secretary.

Team-27 supported by the team of volunteers did a commendable job in organising the event.
