Ready for debate on all issues in Parliament: Modi

New Delhi, Jan 31 (IANS): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday said the government is ready to debate on all issues and hoped the Budget Session of Parliament will be a fruitful one.

He reminded the members that they would have to go to their respective constituencies after this session so their behaviour in the House would play an important role in the public's perception.

Speaking to reporters outside the House, Modi said: "Last time we saw how the Parliament worked.

"Nowadays there is an awareness among the public. They keep a close watch on the proceedings of the Parliament. People dislike the fact when politicians do not take interest in discussions and debates in the House.

"I hope that the members will keep this in mind and utilise the Budget Session to the fullest, participating in the debates and discussions for the benefit of the common man, the government and the nation," he said.

"We are committed to take everyone along in the development of the country and want their support in the decisions to take the nation forward," Modi said.

"We will try our best to have a detailed debate on the all issues. I will welcome the debate with an open heart and mind, so that the House functions properly," he added.

    What's the use? He'll keep himself at a safe distance, allowing/forcing Ms Sitaraman to bite the bullet for him so that next day he can say ' Opposition insults women in our country'

    You also will not able to open your arms, because you need them to hold on to your chaddi which has come loose and will drop off very soon — time is running out!

    We know you are committed to the development of the like of Ambani, Adani, chota Modi, Reddys, etc and want their support with the loot — so don't give us bull about development of the nation!!!

    where did chaiwala attended parliament to debate b4 bhakta open your eyes. der were many issues raised in da parliament but da chaiwala & his hench men did not agree 2 debate in da parliament. now he will be defeated left & right.

    mahesh, mangalore — you got to be dreaming . The world know Modi is not capable of answering questions thrown at him unless the questions have been given/leaked to him in advance. He has also not had the guts to face a single press interview to date!

    A Prime Minister who is famously absent in Parliment for most his tenure is only trying to score some political points.

    When his own Integrity has been questioned against all the assurances he gave to root out corruption, he should have cleared his name by appointing a JPC and given the go ahead for a Supreme Court monitored probe into the Rafale deal.

    By living in denial he is only confirming the worst feard of the nation that he is deeply involved in the Rafale Scam.

    People standing in Q during the de-monitization, he was away from Parliament.

    Instead defense minister defended PM action.

    For Rafael deal, he was not ready for JPC.

    Now, days are numbering for 2019 election, he is ready for debate...….?????
