4,600 engineers, MBAs apply for 14 sweepers' job in Tamil Nadu assembly

New Delhi, Feb 6 (IT): People with professional qualifications such as M Tech, B Tech and MBA, post graduates as well as graduates are in the race to bag the work of sweepers and sanitary workers in the Tamil Nadu Assembly Secretariat.

Many Diploma holders too are fighting it out for the posts of sweeper (10 vacancies) and sanitary worker (4 vacancies).

On September 26, the Assembly Secretariat sought applications for the posts.

The only qualification was that the aspiring candidates should be able-bodied. The minimum age limit was 18 years completed. The maximum age differed.

A total of 4,607 applications were received, including from the Employment Exchange.

Of this, 677 applicants were rejected while the balance have fulfilled the eligibility criteria.

Earlier, on Tuesday, student leaders accused the Union government of presenting an Interim Budget that was silent on the issue of jobs and employment opportunities for youth in the country.

Students under various outfits will march from the Red Fort to Parliament tomorrow (February 6) in protest, they said in a joint statement.

N Sai Balaji, the president of Jawaharlal Nehru University Students Union, said, "(Prime Minister Narendra) Modi will come to young India for one more chance. But this time we are not going to give him any chance as our PM. Modi has ruined our future. Through our unity we are going to ensure all vacant government jobs are filled, 10 per cent of GDP is spent on education, gender and social justice is ensured."

This is a utter disgrace for the country and those running this country by many uneducated people who are in the business of providing good education and jobs, etc. etc. etc. It is a shame that 4600 engineers and MBAs applying for 14 sweepers job in Tamil Nadu Assembly Secretariat. Of those, I do not know how many must be having fake degrees from FEKU institutions.

Indian unemployment problem is not going to go away. reasons given below,

    1. Too much regulation.
    2. India`s overindulgence in communal matters.
    3. No real freedom of speech and expression.

We should be grateful to bjp in general and Modi in particular for creating job vacancies to our educated job seekers. According to Modi , sweeper job is also respectable one like selling paw bhaji, idili, vada etc on road side.

bjp has created thousands of sweeper jobs and highly educated people are in que to apply for it. Great nation and good performance by bjp Govt.
India is really shining. BJP has fulfilled its promise of creating jobs for unemployed youths.
Now yuou will see educated unemployed people taking broom in their hands and sweeping roads, platforms, lanes etc etc.

If we select bjp one more time, I am sure that there will be ZERO unemployment in India. They would have done it now but 5 years is not enough. They should get one more term. Congratulations to our chowkidar for the good job done in solving unemployment problem within a record time.

Unless and until Voters keep cheating themselves under the name of religion, culture or group, these things will continue to happen to all next generations, and leaders who are voted will send their generations abroad to study and settle. So Leaders will not sort out citizens problems, its 'I' who need to be mindful while voting for the right solution.

Either sanitary worker income /extra income is more than what an engineer earns, or this is just another propaganda to prove something. Its logically unbelievable for M Tech, B Tech or an MBA to apply for sweeper posts!!

Why logically impossible? It's plain demand and supply. Supply (of B. Techs and MBAs) exceeds the existing demand for them by a huge margin. What will those without jobs do for a living? Sweeper's job is better than no job. It's just a matter of survival. Yes, those who believe in the rosy picture of the economic state of the country that our politicians paint with Jumlafied statistics, find this difficult to believe. You must've read recently that according to national statistics agency, in 2018 the unemployment rate as hit 45 years high, but the centre, in view of the upcoming elections has withheld this report. Withholding truth doesn't change ground reality.

Time for introspection. Necessary to improve standard of education.
Along with that necessary to improve language and communication skills.
But for votes sake, political and local leaders are emotionally blackmailing the people, by not allowing School/ Colleges to use /promote universal / national language.
Who are the victims now? Students their families, people at large!

This is the state of unemployment in our country and as per statstics the lowest in 45 years. The Modi Govt remains in denial but the queue of 4600 Engineers and MBA's for 14 sweeper jobs is an eye openor for our country men regarding the pathetic condition that this Modi Sarkar has brought the country to. High time we opt for a change and pack this Modi Sarkar before they do more damage to our country.

Modi Sarkar Ko Hatao. Desh Ko Bachao.

This the clear indication that how the educated youth of this country are desperate for a job. This is the future that is being offered to our educated youth by the State and Central Governments. All our politicians and policy makers are busy just throwing muck on one another and protecting & supporting the corrupt . Throwing just lengthy hollow bhashans has not done anything in resolving the basic issues of unemployment, health, education and housing etc... It is a pity our so called educated public believes in these kind of corrupt politicians without realizing price that the educated youth has to pay.. God Help this Country.

It means some colleges are producing graduates who are worth nothing. They can not find their livelihood as they are incompetent. There are many universities in TN who sell certificates without examination.

    How stupid your thinking is.
If the colleges do not teach competence, why the HRD minister change the curriculum within a year of assuming office. Fact of the matter is, this outcome of PAKODANOMICS by unfit leaders. Job loss in MSME segment more than 1.5 crores as per recent NSSO report.
