Rahul's Papers Go Missing NSUI Files Police Complaint

TNN

New Delhi, Jan 23: NSUI has filed a police complaint following Congress general secretary Rahul Gandhi's speech notes and some other papers going missing during the lunch break of a convention where a party workshop was being held on Thursday.

A miffed Rahul insisted that the matter be reported as he was upset over the papers being taken away, possibly by members of TV crews, who had access to the venue. The missing documents include an important presentation that he was to make. The complaint has been filed by NSUI chief H Y Eden at the Parliament Street police station.

The complaint may not lead to much action, but sources emphasised it was meant to serve as a warning that a breach of trust was unacceptable. If the media was to have access to the venue where the Congress general secretary was present, it would be terribly bad form for Rahul's personal effects to be stolen. The Congress leader was to meet the media after the mid-day recess but someone wanted to "scoop" the speech and notes, said a Congress source.

Rahul has been addressing a series of NSUI meetings and workshops as part of his plan to rejuvenate the frontal organisations and bring in a new breed of political workers from the educated and professional classes. The session was devoted to leadership skills.
