Kadaba: Jeep driver arrested for rape and pregnancy of minor girl

Kadaba, Feb 12: In an incident that has come to light quite late, a jeep driver has been arrested by the town police under POCSO for raping and causing pregnancy to a minor girl.

The arrested accused is identified as Saddam (25), son of Abbas, a resident of Peradka of Renjiladi village. Saddam was working as a jeep driver in the town.

The accused had befriended and enticed the victim girl, who was studying in first PUC in a college of the taluk and raped her. The parents of the girl came to know about the incident quite late when the girl is eight months pregnant.

The town police who got the information, arrested the culprit immediately.

    He must have made use of the jeep to impress the minor. droping to school and bringing back in the jeep.
    If imprisoned how the victim will benefit. ? Rather make him sign a bond on stamp paper that he will take the responsibility of looking after the well being of both mother & the child.

    You should be properly educated. Any act, even if consensual, with a minor, or any person not able to give their consent, like someone in a coma, or drunk or having mental health issues or down syndrome is RAPE. Get it in your head and DON'T DO IT

    Parents came to know when the girl was 8months pregnent?Cant believe.Parents didnt doubt any signs of her pregnency.?Now need not to cry.let them marry.He should be punished .why did the girl not confessed it to her parents immediately after the rape is a question.

    Rape of a minor or sex with a under aged lady ? PUC victim is certainly 18yrs old and boy looks younger than 25. Technicality seem to working more than the truth .

    I feel the major issue here is lack of knowledge. Indian education system should involve sex education. This not only stops unwanted pregnancies but also save people from getting STD's. What is the assurance that it was a rape? Maybe the girl at that moment did not realize her action could lead to a pregnancy. And 8 months she stood brave without telling anyone because she feared if the society would accept her. It is impossible for anyone to picture her state of mind. Thank God she did not tend to suicide or anything. It is impossible to stop people from getting close physically. But we can save people from not committing suicides, avoiding the need for abortions. This generation is exposed to more technology, adult films and means of communication, which also increases the craving for some desires. How many of us here haven't committed mistakes at all? We know the fact, but we do not want to accept it. Like all the comments I see here, I would like to say that, by accusing a person who has done mistakes and criticizing doesn't make you a better human being . By accepting the fact, discussing with people more openly, the girl would have felt secure discussing her problems, also a guy if he has not raped her would not be punished to the extend he is going to be punished now. I am not speaking about this case in specific, I am generally saying, the girl in few cases is equally involved in sexual actions, but when something unplanned happens, immediately it is stated as 'rape' . In turn if we had a open mentality and people were educated well, the below scenarios could have happened, which could have saved lives
    1) If the guy had raped the girl, she could immediately tell her parents, filed a case again him and also could taken a contraceptive pill.
    2) If both of them were equally involved in the act, they would have used a protection.

    I agree its consented sex , but i disagree on importance of sex education . If you treat below 18 girl as child , then whats the point in explaining sex to child. It must be moral education , to abstain from intimacy till marriage , or decrease age of marriage for girls , let them have marital sex rather than stray sex .

    If others do, it is huttu guna. If your people rape an 8 year old baby also, you support the accused. So why are you worried about the huttu guna then?
    Read what Hindu scriptures say about Ahalya and Indra and then comment about huttu guna.
