Bantwal: Government Official Gathers Information on Kudala Deshasta Community

Bantwal, Jan 28:
The state backward classes commissioner Dr Dwaraknath arrived in the vicinity of Vamadapadavu and Siddakatte, near here, on Tuesday January 27, to undertake a survey of the Kudala Deshasta community.  Accordingly, Dr Dwaraknath gathered information on economic status, family, lifestyle, and food habits. 

 


Addressing media persons, he said that the Kudala Deshasta community had not been included under any caste, and thus, government schemes are not available to them.  Proposals have been presented to the government to include them under backward classes. Hence, he had come to gather information which will be submitted to the government for further action, he said.
 
Dr Dwaraknath was accompanied by Kudala Deshasta community leaders Ravindra Prabhu, Ganapati Shenoy, Ramaraya Nayak, M M Prabhu, and others.
