Awantipora attack due to compromise on national security by Modi govt: Congress

New Delhi, Feb 15 (NIE): Congress spokesperson Randeep Singh Surjewala Thursday called the terror attack on CRPF convoy in Jammu and Kashmir’s Awantipora area today a “compromise on national security by the Modi-led BJP government”. Condemning the attack, Surjewala tweeted, “Uri, Pathankot, Pulwama- the terror list and compromise of National Security by Modi Govt continues unabated.”

At least 39 CRPF personnel were killed in a massive explosion in south Kashmir’s Awantipora area, first major militant attack after Uri. Jaish-e-Mohammad has claimed responsibility for the attack and identified the bomber as a local militant.

Police sources say the attack was likely carried out by a suicide bomber, who rammed an explosive-laden car into the CRPF bus.

Congress president Rahul Gandhi called it a “cowardly” attack and expressed condolences to the families of the martyrs on Twitter.

Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra also expressed concerns over the rising casualties and urged the Narendra Modi government to adopt steps to curb such incidents in future.

“Deepest condolences to the families of the jawans martyred in a terror attack in Pulwama, Jammu and Kashmir. I can very well understand the pain and grief of losing a loved one in the family. I want to say that not only the Congress party but the entire country is standing shoulder to shoulder with the families of our brave soldiers,” the Congress leader said in a statement.

Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot saluted the supreme sacrifice by the CRPF and expressed condolences to the family.

Meanwhile, Union Minister Arun Jaitley said that terrorists will be given an unforgettable lesson for their heinous act.” Jaitely condemned the attack and said, “Nation salutes martyred soldiers and we all stand united with families of martyrs.”

If the nation's premier investigation agency CBI is doing intelligence job to target political opponents, Awantipora attack would have never happened.
BJP created Jaish-e-Mohammad by releasing Masood Azhar creating terror outfit JeM by releasing Masood Azhar during the Kandahar standoff in 1999.
These attacks would not have taken place had the JeM not been created. And who created JeM? The BJP, by releasing Masood Azhar. Who escorted Masood Azhar to Afghanistan? BJP. What did Masood Azhar do after that? He formed Jaish-e-Mohammad.
The Vajpayee government relented and asked the then External Affairs Minister Jaswant Singh and the then Intelligence Bureau Chief Ajit Doval to escort the three terrorists to Kandahar in Afghanistan, where they were handed over to the Taliban.

I sincerely hope that the government will give a good compensation to the families of those who died and were injured. An initiative by Daijiworld in fund raising would be a good idea.

India should internationalize this issue and get the international community to condemn Pakistan and put pressure on them. We have every right to live in peace.

Congress should not bring politics in this matter. This is not a time for doing politics. For that point I always appreciate BJP, since they always stand with govt to handle such difficult situation earlier.

Last sergical strike now has become history for Modi which he proudly used to glorify his achievement in public rallies. Its a do or die sitiation for him to take stern action against the enemies else his political career would soar in comming days.
Security lapse one of the core reason behind this incident. Truck loaded with 300 kg of expolosive have crossed all check post before ramming army convoy which is quite dubious.

forget about surgical strike, first we need to control stone pelters & tukde gang, afjal guru supporter, sleeper cell of these terror groups. but whenever action taken against these terrorist, some people start to blame govt, bjp in the name of minority card, intolerance etc. that is the tragedy.
