Delhi Congress holds candle light vigil for slain CRPF troopers

New Delhi, Feb 17 (IANS): The Delhi Congress here on Saturday organised candle light marches in all the 280 blocks of the national capital to pay homage to the 49 CRPF troopers killed in the Pulwama terror strike and urged the Centre to give a befitting reply to those behind the attack.

The candle light marches, organised on directions of Delhi Congress chief Sheila Dikshit, were attended by scores of Congress workers and others.

Urging the government to take strict action, the Congress in a statement said, "The Delhi Congress appeals the Centre to give a befitting reply to those responsible for the terror attack on security forces at Pulwama."

The party said it stands with the security forces and the Central government in this hour of crisis.

Forty-nine CRPF troopers were killed on Thursday in Jammu and Kashmir's Pulwama district when a Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) suicide bomber rammed his SUV packed with explosives into a CRPF bus.
