Mumbai, Jan 30:
Women’s wing of the city’s Devadiga Sangh organized cultural and Arasina Kmnkum programme on Monday January 26 afternoon, at the Sangh office premises located at Dadar (East) here.
The stage programme held during the interval of cultural programmes was presided over by Devadiga Sangh president Prafulla V Devadiga.

Speaking at the occasion, Prafulla said that culture of a community plays a significant role in introducing its unique features to the rest of society.  It is the responsibility of cultured women to inculcate tradition, cultural values and mother tongue among their children.  Women should muster enough courage to support the oppressed women and at least offer moral support to women subjected to domestic violence across the nation.  Moreover, those women willing to take active role in creating a society free of the abuse of women should join in the movement, she urged.
Cultural committee president Jayasri Devadiga Attavar, social welfare committee president Pushpa Rao, former president Malati Moily, former vice president Prema Mohandas, former joint secretary Bharati Nittekar and others were present at the dais.
