Bahrain: Karnataka Social Club Celebrates Republic Day

Bahrain, Jan 31:  Karnataka Social Club,-Bahrain held the Indian Republic Day celebrations on Friday January 30 at the Papillion party hall.

The event started with the singing of National Anthem.This was followed by cinematic dances by the children of the club members. The highlight of the event was  'The Indian Look - 2009' contest for the  children in the age group of 4-14 years. More than 15 children took part in the contest, dressed in various costumes depicting the traditional dresses prevalent in different Indian States.The coveted winner's prize went to Ashlyn Alva with the runner up title going to Tanya Idya. Consolation prizes were given to all the participants.

A DJ took over, following the contest, playing music ranging from hip hop to the old time favourites. A lunch buffet followed by a session of Konkani masala saw the event concluding with a message of thanks from the organizers.
