Imran Khan deserves a chance: Mufti backs Pak PM's statement on Pulwama attack

New Delhi, Feb 19 (ANI): Following Imran Khan's media address statement on the Pulwama terror attack, former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti opined that the Pakistan Prime Minister "deserves a chance" as he has "recently taken over."

However, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chief noted that it was time for Khan "walk the talk" with regard to taking action against the spurt of terrorist activities.

Khan, in his brief address to the nation earlier on Tuesday, had warned India that any action taken by it will be met with retaliation by Pakistan, but was quick to add that "war is not the solution."

In response to this, Mufti said that the war rhetoric has "more to do with the impending elections than anything else."

Forty CRPF personnel were killed in an attack orchestrated by Pakistan-based terror outfit Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) in Pulwama on February 14.

Khan assured that action will be taken if there is any "actionable evidence" available to prove Pakistan's link to the attack.

He also offered to have a dialogue with India on the issue of terrorism, claiming that “naya (new) Pakistan” did not want anybody to indulge in terrorism from the Pakistani soil nor wanted anybody else to indulge in terrorism from “outside”.

“We are ready to discuss terrorism. Terrorism is a problem for the entire region. We want terrorism to end in the region,” Khan said.

Mufti was BJP's 'holy' alliance partner in J&K. She always has a soft spot for Pakistan. Imran Khan is not a newbie but has been power for over 6 months now and he could have done a lot of things to prove that his government would usher in a new beginning - release Khulbushan Jadev unconditionally along with other imprisoned Indians especially the ignorant fishermen, hand over Hafeez Saeed, Masood Azar and every single terrorist to India, end infiltration of insurgents from across the border. But why would he ? His rise to power is brought about by the ISI and the Pakistani Army which wants to destabilize India.

PAKISTAN MUST BE TAUGHT A LESSON.

No wonder call to withdraw Article 370 is intensifying. These people have gotten habituated to eat things for free, contributed by the taxes paid by people of rest of India. Let them work for their necessities. Stop all subsidized supply. If they feel Pakistan will look after them better, just push them out through Wagah Border !
