Hours after being hit by stones, Vande Bharat Express runs into motorcycle

New Delhi, Feb 21 (PTI): The Vande Bharat Express hit a motorcycle near Allahabad on its third commercial run on Wednesday, the railways said, adding that no one was injured in the incident.

The incident occurred hours after stones were hurled at the train near Tundla in Uttar Pradesh in the morning.

The incident took place near Phaphamau, around 42 km from Allahabad.

"The train hit a motorcycle, which was abandoned by its owner on the tracks as he saw the train approaching while illegally trespassing on the tracks. While the vehicle has completely been damaged, the Vande Bharat Express suffered none. No one was injured and the train will run as per schedule," Northern Railway Spokesperson Deepak Kumar said.

The train, made indigenously at a cost of around Rs 97 crore, has been plagued by issues since its trial runs commenced in November last year. It had suffered damage to its window panes when stones were hurled on it on two occasions previously.

    Fact is that the motor cycle was illegally trespassing the tracks and abandoned on the tracks (intentionally?). People are mocking a good effort by the Government and Railways. Vested interests are doing their best to make the efforts to fail.

    Does the above sentence say that the motor cycle was left on the tracks intentionally ? Avani, the man was crossing illegally. Pushing the cycle through the tracks would not give him sufficient time before the train hits him and the cycle. So, he jumped to the side and let his cycle there. Let him be sued by the railways and take the damages from him - matter closed !

    Moral of the story is, close all illegal crossings before you run a train worth crores, the money that came from poor people's taxes. NiMo, Choksey did not give money to build Vande Bharat. They gave their loot to Atgigua to buy their citizenship with blessings from BJP govt ruling at the center.

    what's wrong in having a fast train , we all need these as long as all safety measures are in place. People throwing stones need to be taught a lesson not to destroyed Govt property. Running packed shows that's the future of mass travel.

    BJP came into existence only in 80s . The Cong you are talking about is pre 1947 and not the Cong of the fake 'Gandhis'. The picture is clear now for Indians. If it was true, why is Cong being booted out every where. Pappu is contemplating to contest from a safe constituency and not Amethi this time. Moreover Cong is hanging on regional parties for survival its even rejected from the Mahaghatbandhans for LS polls.

    I am also talking about the very Congress of 1947. Father figure of BJP, ABV was in British camp giving witness against an Indian (Congress member). Ghodse was a killer of Gandhiji but Gandhiji is an entity because whom the freedom movement gained speed. Abhinav Bharat killed the British, Gandhiji went about fasting against this brutality. Is this sufficient, or do you want more about polarity/contrasting points about now derived party of Ghodse (Abhinav Bharat) i.e. BJP ?

    As for Congress being booted out, tell me - will you refrain to vote for somebody who gives a price for your vote ? Say, Rs. 15 Lakh ? Regardless, Modi came to power with assurance of 'Na khaaoonga, naa khane doonga'. After all other scams, came Rafel. What is different in his governance then ?

    Had RG not raised voice about Rafel, the dumb/mute/blind Indians would have continued voting for BJP.

    Fortunately, that is not happening - you take it as a challenge - this time (2019) BJP will not get the clear majority it got in 2014. You will not have a chance again to ridicule Congress' defeat.
