Moodbidri, Feb 22: Mangalore Institute of Technology of Engineering (MITE) is set to organize edition two of the prestigious TEDx event in its campus on February 23. The acclaimed TEDxMITE event is set to host a diverse array of top 8 speakers and 3 performers from various walks of life.

TED is a non-profit organization devoted to Ideas worth Spreading. Started as a four-day conference in California 30 years ago, where Technology, Entertainment, and Design converged, has today covered almost all topics-from science to business to music to global issues -in more than 100 languages. TEDx is an independently organized TED event in local communities around the world, serving the purpose of TED to essentially spread the power of ideas to every corner of the world.

TEDxMITE is powered by its tagline 'Exploring Infinities' and believes in the power of ideas to change the world and aim to provide a platform for ideators to speak about their ideas and help the community explore the infinities hidden in those ideas. TEDxMITE is a full day event having two themes, each held at two sessions on the same day. The themes are 'The New Dawn' and 'Ignited', would have audience from various walks of life and profession. The edition two of TEDxMITE is expected to be a unique event with diversity in ideas and exhilarating performances.

 

Sreevathsa Prabhakar is a serial entrepreneur with over 20 years of experience in the fields of Customer Experience, Technology, and Management. He has worked with companies like Nokia, Tata Teleservices, Samsung, and BPL Limited before becoming an entrepreneur in 2009.

Prabhakar, founded a fully bootstrapped venture named The Service Solutions in 2009, to deliver his brand of technology driven Customer Service which was later acquired by German major B2X in 2014. He then started his second ambitious venture Servify in 2015, which has already grown to be the largest after-sales service platform globally in a short span of less than 3 years.

Deepak Lalan is a Blockchain practice leader at Accenture. He has been a vivid keynote speaker at major industry conferences and an Enterprise Blockchain subject matter advisor to numerous corporates. He's been associated various groundbreaking projects like the SBI Intouch, SBI Buddy, Blockchain for Oil and Gas Majors, Accenture Innovation Hub, Geological Survey of India (GSI) Online Core Business Integrated System (OCBIS) and the world's largest biometric-enabled National identification system, Aadhar.

Kiran J is a widely regarded dancer, choreographer and social media celebrity. Having bagged a degree in Computer Engineering, Jaykay decided to follow his passion for dance. With his initial YouTube uploads to later viral Instagram content, Jaykay quickly garnered a reputation for himself within the dance space. Having worked as an assistant choreographer for a couple of popular music videos, he has since toured around the world for his workshop “Illaka Tera Dance Mera” and has actively participated in many acclaimed events around the country. With an ever growing fan following on YouTube and Instagram, he is currently pursuing his dream of making it large with some prominent dance studios in the country.

Sameer, a Computer Engineer by qualification, is currently employed as a Sr. Manager in a Telecom company in the Middle East. He also works as the executive director of Kokaris Honda and KMaC poultry farms private Ltd. He is known for his rational arguments in favour of Homeopathy and debunking the myths surrounding it. His ideas about homeopathic medication truly help us explore the various feats and features of the field.

Manoj Prabakar, a Chennai based stand-up comedian, is one of the top comedy artists in this city, and has performed both corporate and public shows in major cities like Chennai, Coimbatore, Pondicherry, Bengaluru, Mumbai, Kochi, Trivandrum, Goa, Hyderabad, and Kolkata and he puts all his effort into trying to be funny, quirky and intelligent with the humour he uses.

Arun Hegden is an aerospace engineer turned photographer who took the world by storm through his eye for detail. He hails from a small town called Ettumanoor in Kerala and now resides in Bangalore. Hegden is a photographer who takes great pride in capturing the true emotion, personality and intensity of the people and subjects being framed. He has been featured in Chennai Weekend Clickers, Best of SLRBB Infosys, Nizhalattam, 'A Tree Story' by Open Wildlife Lounge and Roots of India.

Manesh Kumar is a consummate HR professional with nearly a decade of experience. He is a trusted people advisor to business leaders and managers spanning geographies, nationalities, organization levels and experience. He is a recognized public speaker and an award-winning member of the Toastmasters International organization for public speaking and leadership. He had a successful brush with cricket commentary for ESPN-Star Sports and has anchored corporate events and spoken at leadership development initiatives. He also has a flair for the written word, having donned the role of Chief Editor and author for corporate newsletters and, while an MBA student, published an article in the Times of India, one of India's leading national newspapers.

Satish Acharya is an Indian cartoonist hailing from Kundapura, Karnataka. Acharya, a self-taught cartoonist, moved to Mumbai and started in an advertising agency as an account executive after obtaining an MBA in finance from Mangalore University. He laid foundations to a fruitful career as a political cartoonist with Mumbai-based English tabloid Midday where he continued to contribute to its daily cartoon column for nine years. His cartoon on the Charlie Hebdo Massacre was regarded as one of the most powerful cartoons on the tragedy by the foreign media and it was published in international newspapers including The Wall Street Journal, The Times and The Guardian. In 2015, he was featured as one among 24 thinkers by Forbes India as the best India-based intellectuals who are well regarded outside India.

13.13, an Indian dance crew which proves that Hip-hop is not just their style but it’s a community and language. A dance crew of 6 dancers who come from different families, different backgrounds and yet connected by dance originated in Mumbai in the year 2010.

13.13 crew is the first dance team to represent India at the Hip Hop International, USA. After the extraordinary journey of the crew in the Indian Reality show, Dance plus Season one, they were featured and choreographed a music album "Gf Bf" directed by Remo D'Souza. The crew also bears the fame of winning the first runner up at the 'Living Talent' - Dubai Masterpiece 2017.

Ami Mishra catapulted into fame with his debut single ‘Hasi’ from the Hit feature- ‘Hamari Adhuri Kahanni’, earning him the coveted GIMA Award for ‘Best Debut Music’ in 2016.

Mishra, an MBA graduate, decided to desist from a dream job to venture onto his love for music. His passion for his profession has been monumental to his rise and with his latest song, ‘Lost Without You’ in the 2017 feature film Half Girlfriend, Mishra continues to captivate the Indian hearts with his amazing voice and incredible story.
