One rescued in J&K avalanche


Srinagar, Feb 23 (IANS): One person was rescued on Saturday after he was trapped in an avalanche in Jammu and Kashmir's Bandipora district, authorities said, adding that there was no one else missing.

"Few people were at the Chrawan forest in Ajas area when the avalanche took place. The rescued person suffered minor injuries. He has been hospitalised," the officials said.

"One person suffered minor injuries. He has been shifted to hospital for treatment.No person is missing".

The officials dismissed earlier reports had said six people were suspected to be trapped.
