Shabir Shah 'fit and fine': Tihar authorities

New Delhi, Feb 24 (IANS): Tihar Jail authorities on Sunday denied occurence of any mishap or untoward incident involving Kashmiri separatist leader Shabir Shah, according to a statement issued by the Union Home Ministry.

"Shabir Shah is absolutely fit and fine. All other inmates from Jammu and Kashmir and Pakistan are also fine. The prison authorities have appealed to all to be cautious against fake news," said Shailendra Parihar, DIG, Tihar Jail, in response to reports of a mishap involving Shah.

Shah was arrested in 2017 in a money laundering case and has been lodged in the Tihar Central Jail since then.

A Delhi court on Saturday deferred hearing on his bail plea till April 2.
