My personal request to all the students who studied in Milagres, today we are here because of the education we got from Milagres college. Milagres college is not only for students from Kallianpur but also students from Udyavar to Sastan study in Milagress college. Our parents have not even paid 1% of the fees of what we are paying today to our children's education. Let us contribute something (not necessary in thousands and millions) even in hundreds to show our gratitude to the institute we studied which is for the welfare of the society.

Good Work by Milagres Gulf Association. With this new Building new courses will be opened and many students can study the discipline of their choice. When i was a student of Milagres there were only three discipline-Arts Commerce and Science.Inspite of scoring above 70% i was not offered a seat for commerce by the then principal saying that seats were full. I was forced to take up Arts and study. Now the present generation of Kallianpur need not go to far off colleges. They can take the disciple of their choice at Milagres College.Even the Lecturers of Milagres College can send their children to the same college as i have observed that lectureres used to send thier own children for studies to some other colleges. Hope a large number of students from rural and poor community get benifitted by this new building.Continue your good work Milagres Gulf Association. When Mother Mary is there she will certainly bless your tournment and make it a grand success.

In my previous comment, I had stated that Rev. Fr. Denis J. D’Souza (later Monsignor) was Parish Priest at St. Peter’s, Barkur, in the early 1910s. This is deduced from the historical account of the Parish in which he is named immediately following the previous Parish Priest, who relinquished charge in 1911. The same account credits Fr. D’Souza as responsible for the gothic structure of the Barkur Church in 1923. I also know a religious event in 1917 involving my father, in which Fr. D’Souza officiated. The sum of all this is: Fr. D’Souza (later Monsignor) had arrived as a Priest in Barkur Parish sometime between 1911 and 1917. For the sake of history, the question is: was Fr. D’Souza the Barkur Parish Priest in the early 1910s at such a young age ? We will find out one way or another !

the HOPE,the STRUGGLE and the HARD WORK towards goal/success is part of the rewards. Achieving goal itself is not the whole reward. Milagreans in Dubai, you are doing a wonderful job. Good luck for the tournament.

Dear Milagreans, it was very thoughtful of you to organise this tournament for a noble cause. It is also nice of you to remember and honour the one and only, Mgr. Denis J. D'Souza, who was well known for his all round goodness and generosity, of which I am a personal witness as an ex-Milargean in Kallianpur, just as my father was in Barkur (when the then Fr. D.J. D'Souza was its Parish Priest in the early 1910s ! )
