Doha: Qatari Diar wins Tulu Koota Cricket Tournament

Doha, Feb 6: Qatari Diar Cricket team won the third Rubber Ball tournament organized by Tulu Koota Qatar defeating Hannan XI by 9 runs in the final match on Friday February 9, 2009 at the Ideal Indian School Grounds.

The 16 teams participated in this tournament were Pallonji Qatar, Tulu Koota A & B, CCTC, Qatari Diar, Kokan Friends, United Cricketers, RAF United X1, Kerala XI, Advanced Technical Services, Al-Fardan, Mangalore Cricket Club, Karnataka Sangha Qatar, Ashmak XI, Hanan XI, and Masters XI.

The preliminary round and the Semi Finals were played on 16th, 23rd and 30th January at Kemco Grounds.  The Semi Finals and the Finals were played on February 6, at the Ideal Indian School Grounds.

The first round of the tournament with 10 over was played as follows:

Tulu Koota Qatar A  Vs CCTC where CCTC won the match and Asif of CCTC was declared the man of the match



























Pallonji Qatar Vs Qatari Diar where Qatair Diar won the match and Usman Mani of Qatari Diar was declared the man of the match

Kokan friends Vs United Cricketers XI where Kokan friends won the match and Kanchan of Kokan friends was declared the man of the match

RAF United XI and Kerala XI where Kerala XI won the match and Anas of Kerala XI was declared the man of the match

ATS Vs Al Fardan where ATS won the match and Ravi Shetty the President of Tulu Koota was declared the man of the match

MCC Vs Karnataka Sangha where Karnataka Sangha won by the match and Chanaka of Karnataka Sangha was declared the man of the match

Hannan XI Vs Asmakh XI where Hannan XI won the match and Muzamil of Hannan XI was declared the man of the match

Tulu Koota Qatar B Vs Masters XI where Masters XI won the match and Tamoor Saijad was declared the man of the match 
 
Quarter Finals were played as follows:

CCTC Vs Qatari Diar where Qatari Diar won the match and Umar Taj of Qatari Diar was declared the man of the match

Kokan Friends Vs Kerala XI where Kerala XI won the match and Zainuddin of Kerala XI was declared the man of the match

Karnataka Sangha Vs ATS where Karnataka Sangha won the match and Chanaka was declared the man of the match

Hannan XI Vs Masters XI where Hannan XI won the match and Satar of Hannan XI was declared the man of the match 

Semi Final matches were played as follows:

Qatari Diar Vs Kerala XI where Qatari Diar won by the match  and Iqtidar of Qatari Diar was declared the man of the match

Hannan XI Vs Karnataka Sangha where Hannan XI won the match and Sattar of Hannan XI was declared the man of the match
 
In the Final match played between Qatari Diar and Hannan XI, Hannan XI won the toss and elected to field.  Qatari Diar scored 164 runs for 9 wickets in the 15 over match. In response Hannan XI scored 155 runs for 9 wickets. Mr.Habib of Qatari Diar was declared the man of the match.  

For the prize distribution held after the final match M.I. Farid, from Khalid Electrical the Founder President of ICC-One Toastmasters was the Chief Guest.  The President Ravi Shetty welcomed the gathering, Mohan Jappinamogaru proposed the vote of thanks, Prathana Shetty was the MC.

Annas from Kerala XI was declared the man of the series.  Abdul Sattar from Hanna XI was declared the best batsmen of the tournament; Muzammil from Hannan XI was declared the best bowler of the tournament.

Commentators for the tournament were Salam and Sataya Naryan Hedge.

Chidanand of Pallonji Qatar was the Main Sponsor of the Tournament. Co-Sponsors of the tournament were Asmath Ali, Naser M.P, Abdul Rehman of Hannan XI, Abdula Monu, Madan Manjeshwar of DOMASCO, Hammad Salam of Red bull, Raj Shekar, Vivian D’souza and Milan Arun.

Sumanlal Kodialbail coordinated the tournament with help of Ravi Shetty, Seetharam shetty, Sridhar naik, Sudhir Kotian, Ramachandra Shetty, Prakash rao, Prakash Ajila, Asmath Ali, Mohan Jeppina Mogaru, Nagesh Shetty and Sunil.
