India says Pakistan targeted Indian military, IAF pilot missing

New Delhi, Feb 27 (IANS): India on Wednesday accused Pakistan of targeting Indian military installations in response to its counter-terrorism action a day earlier and said an Indian MiG-21 Bison pilot was "missing in action".

"Against this counter terrorism action (of bombing the JeM training camp), Pakistan has responded this morning by using its air force to target military installations on the Indian side," External Affairs Ministry spokesman Raveesh Kumar told the media.

He said the Indian Air Force (IAF) responded instantly and one Pakistan Air Force (PAF) aircraft was shot down by a MiG-21 Bison.

"The Pakistani aircraft was seen by the ground forces falling from the sky on the Pakistan side," he said.

"In this engagement, we have unfortunately lost one MiG-21. The pilot is missing in action. Pakistan has claimed that he is in their custody. We are ascertaining the facts."

We do not know who is responsible for the Kashmir problem as it remained a bone of contention between two countries after independence and Pakistan is brainwashing youngsters and sending them to India as terrorists to do havoc. India is deploying security and personnel and sacrificing its military personnel and people. It made the life of people living there especially in border areas miserable. In my view solution has to be found out and clear cut border line to be defined even at any cost it it requires building permanent walls. I think without Kashmir problem there will be more peace and trust like any other country between two countries.

High time Pakistan and India stop all their Sabre Rattling and Jingoism as the situation can get out of control and any miscalculation can lead to Mutally Assured Destruction as both have Nuclear Weapons.

Both India & Pakistan are trying to impress their might and will power but escalating the situation and triggering full fledged war is disasterous.

RSS camp is too far, that is why they are targetting Indian military and the civilians. So it is better to stop and start having a talk and come to the point. Do it similar to North Korea and the USA.

We are here for few years. What is the use of spending it with conflicts every day???. Earn one's daily bread. Take care of one's family. Finally depart peacefully. It is beneficial for one's own life and the lives of all others. Wrong ways & means will never yield. Become good, and good will prosper all over the world.
Rejoice at the well being of one another and never at the ill being.
Thank you and God bless each and every one of us.

    Marol, Udupi,

whatever you told that is 100% correct but there is no use in preaching this to terrorist/Pakistan. Indian govt followed your concept since 1971. Our great PM Mr.Vajpayee also done the same thing but the result we all know. Even new govt formed in 2014 also accepted the same logic & visited that country on good gesture but what is the use? patankot....pulwama attacks happened. so how long indian people/army should loss their life without any fault? only Indians are loosers in that aspect. that is the reason we need to stop the terrorism & save our innocent people life.

It needs a political will to strike the enemy and MODI has that will
When 1971 war when Indira got credit same holds good for MODI in 2019
We were lacking such will from 2004 to 2014

In 1971, India under the pretext of rescuing Bangladesh tore Pakistan into two, India wasn't provoked directly by Pakistan at all, still the bold and the wise lady went ahead against all (US+UK+France) odds. The most spectacular thing was the way she shooed away 7th fleet of mighty USA, thanks to Russian intervention. You can't compare 1971 with what's going on now. We have lost 40 soldiers already and it's been 10 days since and don't forget the upcoming polls.

1971 is far behind now . Most of the youngsters , adults today were not even born then . People compare something thats current. In the 26/11 carnage 165 innocents got killed by Paki based LET terrorists. What did the then Cong PM MMS do? Ghanta ? Nothing? even after ruling 8 years later till 2014. Modi responded with Surgical strike 1 and 2.0 in a matter of less than 15 days. This is what people will talk.
