Gurugram police tighten security after terror warning

Gurugram, Feb 28 (IANS): The Gurugram police on Wednesday tightened security in public places like markets and malls and security force establishments following intelligence reports of possible terror strikes.

Newly-appointed Police Commissioner Mohamad Akil has directed his officers to deploy extra security force in these places as well as business hubs and spots frequented by tourists following the inputs.

"We have received intelligence inputs that Pakistan-sponsored terrorists may target certain places. We have deployed Quick Response Teams along with personnel from police stations concerned at these locations. We have also urged the people to alert the security personnel about any suspicious activity without any hesitation," he said.
