Cong striving to make Rahul Gandhi's Jharkhand rally a success

Ranchi, Feb 28 (IANS): The Congress is going all out to make party President Rahul Gandhi's "Parivartan-Ulgulaan" rally here, Jharkhand, on March 2 a success.

It will be Gandhi's first visit to Jharkhand as the Congress President.

With the Congress attempting to put up a joint opposition against the Narendra Modi government in the next general elections, several opposition leaders have also been invited for the rally.

"There is enthusiasm among party workers. They are active at every level and giving their best for the rally. Over two lakh party workers will attend the rally," Congress spokesperson Kishore Sahdeo told IANS.

"Different wings of the youth Congress, the OBC Morcha, the Tribal Morcha as well as district presidents have been asked to ensure a huge turnout of party workers at the rally, which will launch our campaign to throw the BJP out from the Birsa Munda's state," Sahdeo said.

The opposition parties have almost finalised the seat-sharing in Jharkhand for the Lok Sabha elections.

According to the formula, the Congress, the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM), the Jharkhand Vikas Morcha-Prajatantrik (JVM-P) and the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) will fight on seven, four, two and one seats, respectively.

A formal announcement of this is likely to be made after the rally.
