New Delhi, Mar 3: When Sonali Bendre discovered that she has cancer after a diagnosis, she started looking back at her life and questioned as what led her to this horrible disease. She questioned her lifestyle and her thoughts. Everyone around her told that her lifestyle was fine, her friends questioned that how come it can happen to her. Sonali had questions in her mind if she had done something wrong. She was a positive personality, did positive things then what led to this horrific disease. She wanted to understand it, she wanted to go deep in her subconscious and try to understand as what went wrong. She kept on thinking about it over and over again and she thought so much that ultimately she had to take help of a psychiatrist in New York.

Sonali came to terms with cancer only after she got an assurance from her Psychiatrist in New York. After a few sessions with the psychiatrist. She realized that she can handle her thoughts and her disease. She realized that it’s not about doing wrong or right. It is a disease and it has happened to her.

Sonali went to New York for cancer treatment in middle of 2018 and came back to India after a successful treatment. All this while, she kept posting about her disease and what she was going through. Sonali has returned to work in February this year.

Sonali shared these thoughts recently at an event in Mumbai.
