Celebs wish 'promoters of talent' Shankar Mahadevan, Salim Merchant


Mumbai, Mar 3 (IANS): Music composers Shekhar Ravjiani and Vishal Dadlani gushed with their birthday wishes for musicians Shankar Mahadevan and Salim Merchant on Sunday, calling the artistes "legendary and promoters of new talent".

Mahadevan of Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy is known for songs such as 'Breathless', 'Gallan goodiyaan', 'Dilbaro' and 'Bumbro'.

"Happy birthday Shankar, have a blessed day," Ehsaan Noorani tweeted.

Salim as part of Salim-Sulaiman has given hits such as 'Ainvayi ainvayi', 'Kaal dhamaal' and 'Rama re'.

Dadlani wished happy birthday to "my brothers Shankar Mahadevan and Salim Merchant, both legendary musicians and even better people. Selfless friends, mentors and promoters of new talent, with hearts of gold. That's why music flows through them so effortlessly. More power, guys".

Shekhar hailed them as the "two of the coolest musicians who continue to inspire every member of the music fraternity... People I look up to. My favourites Shankar and Salim".

Actress Kubbra Sait tweeted: "Happy birthday, you wonderfully talented, mind boggling(ly) chilled, humble as poets, poetic, acclaimed, beautiful humans of the music world... Salim and Shankar."
