'Bronze era' artefacts found in Baghpat

Lucknow, Mar 4 (IANS): The Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) has confirmed recovery of 'Bronze era' artifacts during an excavation work in the Baghpat district of Uttar Pradesh.

The ASI has stumbled upon a chariot and many other remnants of the 'Bronze Era' (2000-1800 BC).

ASI Director General Usha Sharma on Sunday visited the excavation site at Sinauli where an official informed her about the findings.

The artifacts and and other items seem several hundred years old, Sanjay Manjul, in-charge of the excavation, said.

"The items discovered are being studied by experts and will be transported to Noida for further examination and study," Sharma said.
