None on other side would have survived if we had Rafale: Modi

Jamnagar (Gujarat), Mar 4 (IANS): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday asserted that the defence situation in the country would have been different if the Indian Air Force had Rafale fighter jets. "Not one this side would have gone and no one on the other would have survived," he added.

Addressing a rally here, the prime minister called upon the Opposition, without naming it, to use "common sense" when it speaks about the Rafale jets.

"If the Indian Air Force had the Rafale today, the situation would have been different, but some people do not have it in them to understand this," Modi said, adding "When I say this, they question the Air Force strikes."

The prime minister, who is on a two-day visit to his home state, went on, "The nation agrees that the disease of terrorism has to be eliminated. I want to ask you, don't you trust what our armed forces say?

"Should or should not everyone, including me, believe in our armed forces without raising questions? We should be proud of our armed forces."

Modi was addressing the rally after inaugurating a 750-bed annexe and PG hostel of the Guru Gobind Singh Hospital here.

He also laid the foundation stones of various development projects in the Saurashtra region.

The prime minister will reach Ahmedabad later in the day to inaugurate the first phase of the six-km-long Metro rail service.

He will also lay the foundation stone of the Patidar community's Umiya Mata Temple Complex in the city.

Looking at the dangerous cross border situation getting worse every minutes, of course we now need another 36 more rafales and this time since INR is sinking lower by the minutes it may well cost INR 100,000. We need to re-elect our PM since he is the only man capable of taking this decision by negotiating on behalf and buying the rafales.

PM Modi, your only achievement from May 2014, is to target Congress and opposition. Even the pilot Abinandan from Tamilnadu, IAF pilot trained after May 2014. Be happy. Again and again target opposition and cover your failures.

And it Congress program to buy 120 Rafael......but this murk reduced it to 36 and given 4 times more price and given contract to ambani...

Mr.PM Rafale not in the cost of brother Paul. People are questioning the cost of Rafale and not bringing it. Secondly even France is not using it because of its high maintenance cost. India definitely would have other options if you think without keeping your brother Anil Ambani in mind. Your policies of opposing ruling party when you are in opposition and blaming opposition when you are in ruling party has become a joke. People will understand it very well, except bhakts.

Raffale cost 540 crores and the Raffale worth 1620 crores both would have done the same job, then why did you cancel the old contract and paid 300% more.

Then why did Modi change the original deal and delay the process by giving the contract to his friend? Blaming others for his failures doesn't suit the PM of our country.

FYI, F-16 are much superior to your Rafale and Pakistan has it. Don't praise your own tail and convince people about your Rafale deal to prove your point in this scam. Indian armed forces needs major change in its weaponry and technology and needs lot of funds which you are unwilling to spare because you want to keep bulk of it. Rafale doesn't have any proven record of successful operations in war. International community and especially US is worried about India's capability as a stretigic partner to counter China seeing India losing on 5 minutes dogfight with Pakistani aircraft.

Narrendra Modi should be given the post of India's Chief of Army staff to lead our warriers in the battle field. Being a civilian head he has done no good for the country. At least he can prove his courage in real life and involving in the war personally. Such a nuisance he talks and boasts of killing others.

Why Modi thinks like that? Does he think that others are there to keep silent watch India's might? Bullshit who wants war and destruction. Let me think of China and what could our fate in the future with Ralfale fighter jets. He thinks only he has 56" chest. The more he barks less he bites and our jawans have to die in case of any miscalculation and escalation in our relation with our neighboring countries.
That is the fault of his restless tongue. Half filled utensil.
